DAY 1: Arrive Guwahati

Arrive Guwahati and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon/Evening visit Kamakhya Temple, on Nilachal hill, 08 kms west of Guwahati city, is one of the most venerated shaktipeeths in India. The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It is on Nilachal hill, says the Shiva Purana, that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his suddarshan chakra. The garbhagriha deep inside the temple, marks the sacred spot and is kept covered with red silken cloth. O/n hotel.

DAY 2: GUWAHATI / NAMERI (about 220 kms/5-6 hrs.)

Morning after breakfast drive to Nameri National Park, famous for Black Headed Ibis. Arrive Nameri and transfer to your camp. After lunch enjoy rafting on Jia Borali river, fringe the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. O/n Camp.

DAY 3: NAMERI/ BOMDILA (about 164 kms/ 06 hrs)

After an early breakfast drive to Bomdila enroute visit Asia’s second largest Orchidarium at Tipi where one can have a quick look over 7500 orchids from a collection of about 300 species. On arrival in Bomdila, check in at your hotel for overnight. If time permits visit Bomdila Monastery.

DAY 4: BOMDILA / TAWANG (about 185 kms/ 06 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Tawang, en-route stop over at Sella Pass (13,700 ft) to enjoy the area. Arrive Tawang and transfer to your hotel. If time permits visit the local market area. Overnight in Tawang.


After breakfast visit of 400 years (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet longand 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed.

Later visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley.

Rest of the day free to stroll round the streets of the town. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 6: TAWANG – DIRANG (about 123 kms/ 05 hrs)

After a leisurely breakfast drive to Dirang and check in at your hotel. Afternoon sightseeing in and around Dirang. Overnight at Dirang.

Day 7: DIRANG – TEZPUR (about 186 KMS – 06 HRS)

After breakfast drive to Tezpur-City of Blood. Tezpur is also considered the cultural capital of Assam. The town has produced many stalwarts such as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika & the former speaker of the Indian Parliament, Somnath Chatterjee.

Late afternoon visit Mahabhairab Temple, is believed to have been built by King Banasura himself. The Puranas state that Banasura was the first person to worship the linga form of Shiva. The Presiding deity, Mahabhairab, is a fierce incarnation of Shiva. Overnight in Tezpur.

Day 8: TEZPUR-GUWAHATI (about 180 kms/4-5 hrs.)– DELHI/KOLKATA (FLIGHT)

After breakfast drive to Guwahati and straight transfer to airport to catch flight to your onward destination.
